Coalway Junior School is a community school, situated in the Forest of Dean; we have 225 pupils on roll, aged between 7-11 years.  We are an Ofsted rated Good School with lovely children and a great team ethos.

 

We are looking to appoint a Caretaker who will support our School Business Manager with all aspects of site maintenance, gardening, safety, and security of the school. We require a self-motivated and proactive individual who is committed to keeping our school clean, tidy and safe for the whole community. The Caretaker will need to be organised, able to prioritise their time and workload whilst being flexible to deal with interruptions and urgent requests.

 

This is a very varied, interesting role and we welcome applications from candidates who:

  • Are flexible, enthusiastic and adaptable
  • Have a good team ethic
  • Have knowledge of basic site maintenance and gardening
  • Have experience of general building maintenance and repairs
  • Are physically able to carry out manual handling tasks – lifting, moving and climbing.
  • Have a great sense of humour

 

Duties will include:

  • Site Maintenance and repairs
  • Gardening
  • Fire Alarm and Emergency Lighting checks
  • Legionella Testing

 

The post is for 5 hrs per week, term time only.

 

Salary Grade 4, points 7-10 (£25,584 - £ 26,835 per annum pro rata)

 

The post is temporary with a view to permanent
